Yodo1 Gains 100 Million Worldwide Players -- and Keeps the Momentum Going with Chinese New Year Game Updates!
Hello everyone – this week we’re proud to announce that Yodo1 now has over 100 million players. We crossed the 100M milestone last weekend thanks in great part to the recent launch of Cut the Rope 2 (Chinese edition) co-developed with our friends at Zeptolab. That game attracted about 2 million downloads in its first ten days on the China market, just from iOS alone. We’re going to launch it on the top Android app stores in China later this month, and with over 50 Android app stores, handset manufacturers, as well as the big three Chinese carriers all lined up to promote the game, we expect to drive another 20 million downloads before the end of February.
Also, with Chinese New Year coming up at the end of January (heralding the Year of the Horse), we’re going to be celebrating the holiday season with CNY-themed updates to many of our games throughout China’s many app stores. For instance, in the China edition of Car Town Streets, which we co-developed with Cie Games, we’re adding Year of the Horse-themed cars (at left), offering lots of “horse power” for our Cartown Streets players. Even the Greek mythology-themed OMG:TD! is going to be part of the Chinese New Year’s fun with “Cai Shen”, the Chinese God of Wealth, making a visit to Olympus to fund the battle against the Titans. This new update will be available to OMG: TD! players worldwide to spread the Chinese New year spirit throughout the world. And oh yeah, Cai Shen seems to have lost his hat, so help him find it in an all-new mission, and you too may be blessed with wealth and prosperity in the Year of the Horse!
And that’s just the beginning of the announcements we have planned for 2014 – check back here after Chinese New Year’s. Until then — gung hei fat choy!
